Emergencies happen in life, and it would be great if every time there were an issue, that it was – you had notification a week ahead of time. But it doesn’t work that way, and it’s important to take care of people and get them in when they have an emergency. We have a beautiful office with some extra space so that if there is an emergency, we can get somebody in and take care of them. We have two doctors who are here, we make sure that our vacations are staggered so there’s always somebody here to take care of emergencies when they happen. If an emergency happens after hours, my cell phone is on the answering machine. It would not be the first time I’ve come in after hours to take care of emergencies. We do everything we can to take care of people. We don’t want anybody to be in pain, we don’t want somebody to not have their front tooth, so we do everything we can to help people out and to make sure they’re not in pain, including diagnosing any problems before they are a problem so that we can try and avoid that as much as we can. We don’t want people in pain, we want to take care of them.
Try to Prevent Dental Problems but Be Prepared When They Happen
Your teeth should not cause you pain. If you are having dental pain, it’s likely a reason to see emergency care. Call us if a tooth falls out, you have a tooth knocked out, you break or crack a tooth, or experience a painful toothache. We offer many ways to help, including root canals, dental crowns, tooth removal, and more.
You can’t anticipate when a dental injury will occur, but you can reduce your risk of dental problems with preventive care at our general dental practice. Here are some simple things you can do:
- Dental Cleanings and Exams – Visit us twice a year for professional cleanings to remove plaque and tartar and thorough exams to identify any changes in your oral health.
- Athletic Mouthguards – Anyone who plays sports should wear a mouthguard during practices and competitions. Custom mouthguards from your dentist provide the best protection for your smile.
- Restorative Dentistry – If you know that you have a problem, treat it as soon as possible with restorative care. This can spare you painful consequences and more invasive treatments down the road.
